Your data rights
Last updated: 5 October 2026
Under the GDPR you have rights over the personal data ALMA holds about you. This page explains each one in plain terms and how to use it. What ALMA collects and why is in the Privacy Policy.
1. How to make a request
- Email admin@synaptiq.academy, or
- use the data request form (for a copy of your data) or the deletion request form.
Please write from, or give us, the email address connected to your account or subscription. If we can't be sure the request is yours, we may ask you to confirm it from that address. We only ask for what we need to verify you.
We'll reply within one month of receiving your request. If a request is unusually complex, or you send several, we may take up to two more months; if so, we'll tell you within the first month and explain why. Requests are free, unless they are clearly unfounded or excessive.
2. See your data (right of access)
You can ask whether we hold personal data about you and get a copy of it, together with why we use it, who receives it and how long we keep it. If you have an account, much of it is also visible in your own profile.
3. Correct your data (right to rectification)
If something is wrong or incomplete, you can ask us to fix it. If you have an account, you can change your display name, bio and profile picture yourself on your profile page while signed in; for anything else, ask us.
4. Delete your data (right to erasure)
You can ask us to delete your personal data, for example when we no longer need it, or you withdraw the consent we relied on. On ALMA, account deletion is currently done on request: use the deletion request form or email us. You can ask us to remove the posts and comments you wrote as well. We may keep a record that we handled the request, and anything the law requires us to keep.
To stop newsletters without deleting anything else, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email; no account is needed.
5. Restrict how we use it (right to restriction)
You can ask us to keep your data but pause using it, for example while we check a correction you asked for, or while we consider an objection.
6. Take your data elsewhere (right to data portability)
For data you gave us that we use on the basis of a contract or your consent (such as your account details, profile and posts), you can ask for a copy in a common, machine-readable format.
7. Object
Where we use your data on the basis of our legitimate interests (for example moderation records or pseudonymous page statistics), you can object on grounds relating to your situation. We'll stop unless we have compelling reasons that override your interests, or we need the data for legal claims. You can always object to direct marketing, and we will stop.
8. Withdraw consent
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. It doesn't affect anything done before you withdrew.
- Cookies: open (also in the footer of every page) and switch Marketing off.
- Newsletters: use the unsubscribe link in any email.
9. Automated decisions
You have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. ALMA doesn't make decisions like that.
10. Complain to an authority
If you think we've handled your data wrongly, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to a data protection authority, in particular in the EU country where you live, work, or where you think the problem happened. In Romania that is:
Autoritatea Națională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal (ANSPDCP)
28-30 G-ral Gheorghe Magheru Bld., District 1, 010336 Bucharest, Romania
