Affiliate disclosure
Last updated: 5 October 2026
The short version
Some links to books on ALMA may be affiliate links. If you buy a book after clicking one, ALMA may earn a small commission from the retailer. You pay the same price either way.
This can include links to Amazon and other bookshops. ALMA may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through those links.
What this means for the recommendations
- Books are chosen first. Whether a retailer pays a commission plays no part in what gets picked or what gets said about it.
- If a publisher or retailer ever pays for, or provides a free copy for, a specific article, that article will say so clearly at the top.
The author's own books
ALMA is also home to The Keeper Chronicles, written and published by the person behind this site. Links to those books go to their Amazon listings. They are not affiliate links, and they are always labelled as the author's own work rather than as neutral recommendations.
How the links are marked
Wherever affiliate links may appear, a short note sits next to them and links back to this page. Those links are also marked for search engines as paid links, so they never pass ranking credit.
What we measure
When you click a link to a retailer, ALMA records which book, which retailer and which page the click came from, so it can see which recommendations are useful. That count uses no cookies and stores nothing that identifies you. The retailer's own site has its own privacy terms once you arrive there.
